3 abandoned sawmills

1. Wood processing plant and wood storage facility Sch.

Until 1990 there was a wood shaping area of the state forestry enterprise Luckenwalde.  In addition to the production of wood chips, construction and pit wood were mainly produced, which was treated with wood preservatives in a drinking hall. Product waste has been deposited in a so-called chip dump since 1965.

Most of the factory premises were sealed. After the company closed in 1990, the site fell fallow. Due to the lack of prospects for subsequent use, all buildings were dismantled between September 2004 and February 2005 and any visible soil contamination was removed. Only one warehouse has not yet been dismantled and can be seen here with the large floodlight mast that is also still in place. There is a solar system on the remaining areas.

Sawmill W.

The sawmill near W. was built at the beginning of the 20th century as the so-called "forest mill" because of the inexpensive transport option for the wood next to a train station.  Since the Waldmühle had manufactured shafts for the carbines in World War II, it was dismantled by the Soviet administration in 1945. A sawmill was operated again in the GDR. It has been empty since the 1990s. A residential park with an adjacent golf course is to be built here in the twenties.
