Sanatorium of the Guard Corps

In 1902 the convalescent home for the Berlin Guard Corps with 500 places was inaugurated. A large park was created for this purpose. During the First World War the home served as a hospital. In 1922 the police from the Berlin Police Headquarters moved in and used the remote area as a training facility. From 1939 to 1945 it was used by the Wehrmacht, again as a hospital. During this time, a bunker was also built in the park. From 1946 to 1966 it was used continuously as a training center for the German People's Police. In 1967 it was integrated into the Berlin People's Police College. In 1990 the institute was dissolved. Until 1996 the seminar business was continued by a federal administration school. The site has been privately owned and not used since 2001, all buildings are empty and threatened with decay. The historic main building is secured and not accessible.
